Bananas are technically berries, strawberries are not

Botanically, a berry is a fruit that develops from a single flower with one ovary. Bananas, kiwis, and even avocados qualify. Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries do not — they're "aggregate fruits." Language is delightfully imprecise.

The strawberry one always gets people. Technically a pineapple is also a multiple fruit!
