The 60-30-10 color rule in design

A dominant color should cover 60% of a space, a secondary color 30%, and an accent color just 10%. This ratio creates visual harmony and guides the eye naturally. I've been applying this to UI design and it makes a huge difference.

CSS :has() selector is a game changer

The :has() pseudo-class lets you select a parent element based on its children. For example, div:has(img) selects all divs containing an image. This was previously impossible in pure CSS and required JavaScript. Browser support is now excellent.

The rule of thirds in photography

Divide your frame into a 3×3 grid. Place your subject at one of the four intersection points rather than dead center. This creates more dynamic, visually interesting compositions. The human eye naturally gravitates to these power points.
